Edition of most of Gandhi's autobiography "Mes Expériences avec la Vérité" (Discovery Publisher – 2016)

Catwalk Translation - freelance translator
What does Catwalk Translation mean?
Why this name?
The word “Catwalk” is a combination of “cat“, a pet I particularly love, and “walk” (walking is one of my favourite pastimes). But “catwalk” means several different things, all linked to the typical gait of cats: from the narrow-raised platform allowing you to move from one place to another, to the straight walkway on which models parade during the fashion shows, with their supple gait evoking the feline breeds.
Where an English-speaking person uses the same word to describe a footwalk in a worksite and a fashion show walkway, the French will use different words – just because thought follows a different path and is conceived differently in each language.
As a cat moving easily through any narrow, high passageway, the translator is a bridge that links two languages with different syntaxes, cultures, and ways of thinking.
Without a translator, communication would be difficult or even impossible between people living in different countries. The translator must navigate on a path that can be steep or laborious among syntaxes and concepts sometimes remote from one another. The translator allows ideas to travel from one bank to the other.
Thought is not conceived and expressed in the same way around the world.
